Emigration is an ambivalent phenomenon that in addition to its positive elements also includes many dangers, difficulties, and threats in our social, moral, and religious lives. That is why the Church addresses these problems with great concern in order to help effectively all "those on the way" who leave their homeland for whatever reason.
The Catholic Church in the United States has for many years provided pastoral care for many different ethnic groups, including emigrants from Poland. This is a very important area of pastoral activity of the Church that is highly prized by the faithful. Even though many years have passed and the emigrants have become integrated into the local society and Church, many Catholics continue to expect the pastoral services of their own priest. For this reason we will direct much of our attention to these matters - researching the decisions and teachings of the universal Church as well as the pastoral practices of the local Church.
